I’ve gotten to spend some time in Kaunas, Lithuania three times in the past year! Other than the amazing women I met, the food definitely surprised me (in a good way!). Not only was it tasty, they also had restaurants from everywhere in the world! I had some amazing Thai food, Italian food, French food…the list goes on! Here a few of my favorites that you need to try!
Most of the restaurants here are either on Wolt or Bolt Food so if you can’t make it to the restaurant in person, you can order for delivery!
HOLY DONUT! The donuts here are phenomenal, unique and sweet. They are a local favorite!
They also serve the best breakfast. From pancakes to porridge to shakshouka, they have it all! Their pancakes are my favorite. They are so fluffy and delicious. I typically have a hazelnut latte (or two) with my meal.
You can get a donut to go or sit in the cafe and enjoy the warm space with coffee or tea. It’s a cute space for a date, brunch with the girls or family.

I would eat here everyday if I could. The Croissant Sandwich is phenomenal. The Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict is just as amazing. There’s nothing I love more than tasty food in an aesthetically pleasing space. The decor of Bistronomé is stunning. I’m obsessed. Greta is my girl and she’s a big part of why I love my time here.
I also love the fact that I can come here to work. The wifi is decent and there a lots of tables. Writing posts for my favorite readers while eating one of Bistronomé’s croissant sandwiches? Is there a more satisfying way to spend the morning?
I love to sit by the window and people watch while I sip on my hazlenut latte. Can you tell I love lattes?

This is more of a coffee shop than an actual restaurant, think Starbucks or Costa. Obviously being a European coffee shop, it’s slightly fancier and some of their locations are more like cafés than coffee shops. I’m not a coffee aficionado but I can tell you it’s a Lithuanian favorite! I enjoyed working here during my time in Kaunas. They have multiple locations!

I don’t think I’ve had a chicken burger this good ever. I tried their Jerk Chicken burger and it was so good. The right amount of flavor and spiciness. It’s by no means a light meal. I went into a food coma shortly after eating HALF of my burger! I didn’t get to try any of their other burgers but I got good reviews from multiple people. Stop by or order for delivery when you visit Kaunas.

We went here on accident three days ago and at the time of writing this post, my boyfriend has ordered take out from here three times already! We went for a walk and realized we were hungry so we walked in to the nearest restaurant and we were glad we chose this one. I’ve tried options from their red sauce – think bolognese, and green sauce – think pesto, menus and I would say they do the red sauce better. You can’t go wrong either way.
Mo’s Tip: Call in over the weekend because it gets pretty busy. It’s also a nice spot for a casual dinner.

This is one restaurant I don’t think I’ll get tired of. I’m a huge fan of Turkish food and Mangal didn’t disappoint. This is our “we’re not sure what we want to eat but we’re hungry” spot. It’s also our “let’s meet up before the game” spot. I love the Doner, Shish, Shashlik, the list goes on. It has a nice, classy vibe but you definitely don’t have to dress up to visit. It’s also good for lunch!

The. guinea. fowl. I don’t think we expected to fall in love with the meal the way we did. We instantly regretted not ordering two portions. They serve the most incredible bread and butter to start off and every meal that follows doesn’t disappoint. They change their menus with the seasons so I won’t recommend anything specific (other than the guinea fowl, of course). Trust your waiter’s recommendations.
Mo’s Tip: Make reservations in advance. Also, be prepared to spend a bit. It’s one of the nicest restaurants in town. If the weather is warm enough, sit on the terrace.

Date night anyone? I love the fact that they pride themselves on “non-boring” food. Not food that you don’t understand when you look at it but rather, food that surprises you when you taste it and has your taste buds singing and dancing with joy! It’s both a lunch and a dinner spot but I definitely recommend it for dinner. It’s a whole experience – includes aperitifs and digestifs! I would say it’s the most high end restaurant in Kaunas so you definitely want to look cute.
Mo’s Tip: Reserve in advance! It’s a small space and they’ll turn you away if you there are no tables. We don’t want that! It’s a steakhouse so please please get the steak. It’s amazing.

A “hidden” gem reminiscent of Nobu. Exotic Asian fusion, inventive cocktails and the sleek setting are worth the visit to Nuogas when you’re in Kaunas. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked through the curtains into the beautiful space. The food is delicious, the bartender is a genius and the DJ knows what he’s doing. I wish I could insert the video of me dancing to Nelly’s “Hot in Here”. I had so much fun here. It gets loud so keep that in mind!
Mo’s Tip: Make reservations in advance! Try to order within 5-10 minutes of being there because the food takes a while to come out. Order multiple meals because their portion sizes are small.
